GUEST COLUMN SUBMISSION REQUIREMENTS:

At IG, we encourage people to submit guest columns! However, I am a very busy person and don't have time to do formatting anymore due to the large amount of material I receive. Here is what I expect to see:

 

1.  All tab pictures MUST be cropped out and edited to look presentable. Do not send me a power tab file or the likes. If you can't CRTL+PRTSCN, paste the picture into MS paint, and then clean it up to look nice, don't waste my time!! I want all pictures in gif or jpeg format.

 

2. I prefer you put your text into html format. I use MS Frontpage and Dreamweaver. It is easy as hell to figure out. If not, then I expect it in MS Word format with NO FORMATTING ON IT. If I have to spend 30 minutes aligning your text so it will fit into front page, I will not be happy! Make sure your text copies and pastes cleanly!

 

3. Make sure you indicate where all pictures, tabs, sounds etc, go in your document. That way I can just place them into the document without having to guess.

 

4. If you send me an mp3, make sure it is a reasonable size! I don't want people trying to download 2mb or more files. Reduce the quality if you have to to get the size to a reasonable amount.

 

5. Don't you dare clutter my inbox with 10mb mp3 files for me to check out your playing. Send me a link instead. This is a good way to NOT get your column posted.

 

6. Spell and grammar check your column. I can offer assistance if English isn't your 1st language. But, English speakers, if you can't take the time to grammar and spell check, why should I spend the time to post your column?

 

7. If you can't follow these simple guidelines, don't waste my time. I'm not asking for much. If you have any questions, just ask me.  THANK YOU!
