Two Hands One Neck (part 2)
Hello and welcome…. In this lesson we will continue to explore the world of two hand tapping…. Exercise 1: this exercise works on the right hand chording, I have chose G major (G,B,D) as the chord, but as soon as you get this down you should try it with every chord major & minor……… Exercise 2: arpeggio’s, here are 4 different ways of doing 2 handed arpeggio’s, the first using 1 note each hand, the second using 2 notes each hand, the third using 3 note each hand (with a cross over), and the fourth using 1 note each hand but tapping octaves, and just like exercise 1 I have chose G major, so after you master these arpeggio’s try them in every key……… Exercise 3: here is 3 patterns using a 1-5 (root-fifth) country bass line, as you will notice in the second & third pattern, at times the right hand play’s against the left hand……… Exercise 4: here is a Contrapuntal exercise using a 1-5 bass line and a basic melody that changes between the hands each pass, once you get this exercise down try experimenting with different melodies & bass lines……….. Exercise 5: here we have 3 different paradiddle patterns, these are great for developing rhythm and consistency of notes between the hands…….. Exercise 6: this is a 6 finger lick I use in my live solo, it is a basic scale run, but it looks really cool on stage and if you get it down really clean you will sound like a GOD……….. Well have fun exploring the world of two hand tapping. See you next month with "two hands one neck (part 3)"
