Killer Licks pt.2
Yes, while I have maintained that I wished to continue looking at modes over the next few months, to coincide with the completion of my mini cd, I’m looking at a number of licks and tricks that I use in my techno-metal instrumental “Oddity”. Shameless self-promo aside, I’ve included some of the coolest licks below for scrutiny, with next month returning to the current modal series. Best wishes, ~d i) Furious legato lick from the second verse: bit of a stretch here considering the speed. ii) Opening to the first solo, first half legato, then picked. iii) Mad sweeping from the first solo, E minor. This WRECKS, so start slowly. iv) Second solo, note the Shawn Lane-esque B minor pentatonic ascent.
