One of the largest problems a local/regional band faces is getting a recording that sounds professional. If your demo or record sucks, then no club, agent, label, manager, or radio station will take you seriously. If you can not invest in yourself, then why would anyone else invest in you? To put it bluntly, if you think that this assessment is wrong, then you are in for a serious reality check. The usual dilemma is that you go to a really expensive studio and spend a little time or a cheap studio and spend a lot of time recording. If you record in a cheap studio, usually the record comes out like crap because the engineer or the gear sucks. If you go to a top dollar studio, you get a great engineer and top notch gear, but you can’t afford to spend the time necessary to really make a great sounding record. The result is always the same, you get a record that sounds like shit and you spend your hard earned money. You end up broke with a product that can not and will not get you the kind of attention that you hope it will. So, now that we have defined the problem, let us introduce the solution: JTW Studios At JTW Studios we have no studio overhead (we own everything free & clear) which means we can charge you a lot less for what we do. We have all the kick ass gear that the really high end studios have (Neve, API, Neumann, Mytek, Shure, Etc..) and an engineer who isn’t completely retarded (at least we hope so). Most importantly though, is that you get top quality without the high price tag. This allows you to get great sounding tracks and put the necessary time that it takes to make a commercially competitive sounding record. At JTW Music we focus on music that is heavy, rocks, or just plain kicks ass. A lot of engineers do not understand what is required to make heavy music sound right. Actually, let’s face it; most studios are completely pathetic when it comes to recording heavy music altogether. If your engineer is a jazz keyboard player, then how the hell is he going to know what badass double kick and a wall of distorted drop tuned guitars is supposed to sound like? Our motto is do it once, do it right. We focus on bands who want to put the necessary time into making a record that sounds great. If something we record sounds bad, then it is a negative reflection on us. To put it bluntly, we only work with bands that have their shit together and are serious about making music. Our goal is to create a win/win situation where we look really good and so do you as an artist. |
